Accommodation

Jamala Wildlife Lodge in Canberra offers three accommodation types: the Giraffe Treehouse, Jungle Bungalows, and Lodge rooms. The Giraffe Treehouse places guests on a balcony where two giraffes, Skye and Khamisi, can be fed carrots. Jungle Bungalows place lions, tigers or cheetahs directly behind glass walls, with the tiger bungalow offering a spa bath.

Experiences

Each booking includes a guided zoo tour where guests see lions, tigers, cheetahs, bears, monkeys, giraffes and zebras. After-hours access to the zoo is allowed before public opening hours, giving guests private time with the animals. Optional encounters include a Cheetah walk, meerkat feeding, and patting a rhino.

Dining

Dinner is served in the uShaka Lodge dining room, where a white lion is visible through a glass wall. The 3-course menu changes daily and includes wagyu steak and pumpkin ravioli, with Moët champagne and wine included. Breakfast is a buffet with hot and cold options, and afternoon tea provides a wide array of sweet and savoury snacks.

Family Amenities

Jamala Wildlife Lodge is family-friendly, with a playground and a Shark Grand Suite that overlooks the aquarium. Children can join a guided night tour of the aquarium while adults finish dinner. The Meerkat Family Suite accommodates families and gives direct views of three meerkats.

Location & Services

The lodge is 8 minutes' drive from Manuka Oval and 10 minutes from the Australian War Memorial. An outdoor swimming pool with lake views is available for guests. Free parking and WiFi are included, and luggage is transported to rooms.
